Abstract Painting.

Painting abstract art gives me the freedom to throw out all the rules. Abstraction allows me to tap into my feelings, intuition and inventiveness, and work in a more spontaneous manner. I enjoy a creative process in which nothing is ‘wrong’ and the joy comes from playing with materials, colors, shapes, ideas and design.

Abstract Landscapes

Landscape painting is not really my thing.  I do paint a fair amount, but they don’t inspire me like figurative painting and abstract painting does.  So when I do landscapes now, I tend to abstract them, and for me, it is more in keeping with my artistic vision.  This abstract landscape was done using my iPad.

Acrylic Abstract Painting.

The abstract art let’s me create many unknown worlds, persons and situations-both real and unreal.

It is up to the viewer to enter them, to meet them, and to feel them.

Lake Champlain

Plein Air Painting

Plein Air painting with my iPad is fun, but has it’s challenges and limitations.  The iPad screen in the sun is difficult.  I need to either find shade, or bring my own shading device.

But I still like painting on my iPad.  In my state of Vermont, there are a lot of Plein Air artists, but to my knowledge, I am the only one doing so with the iPad.  Here is my most recent painting.
